Mercy Ministry
At Harbor, we believe we are called to proclaim the good news of God’s love in Christ through deeds of love and kindness, done in His name toward the people of our city. We believe we are to take extra care to love and serve the poor, the sick and the oppressed. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus has moved in with the poor and became a neighbor to us (John 1:14). He has become poor so that we might become rich (2Cor 8:9), in order to redeem both soul and body (1Cor 15) so that he might finally rehabilitate the entire physical and social world (Rev 21-22).
Uptown's Mercy Ministry seeks to help bring God's healing reign and power to bear upon the lives of the people of our city. We will do this by providing ways for our church to:
• Learn about God's heart for mercy and justice, as seen throughout Scripture
• Grow to share God's heart for mercy and justice, and
• Participate in activities demonstrating God's heart for mercy and justice.
